Working for our shared service which provides Democratic Services support to both Eastbourne and Lewes Councils, the successful candidate will ideally have the ability to work flexibly as part of a team to ensure quality completion of high-volume tasks.
These tasks will typically include responding to messages and managing the Team's inbox, arranging for Councillor briefings and answering Councillor enquiries, supporting webcasting, updating the team's website and SharePoint sites, maintenance of accurate records, and other general administrative tasks and processes. The post holder will occasionally be asked to work in the evenings in relation to supporting the arrangements for public Committee meetings and on elections.
You should have previous experience working in a busy team environment, excellent IT skills and have effective written and oral communication skills. You should also understand confidentiality and be able to deal tactfully and appropriately with any confidential matters that may arise, and confidently with officers and members.
