We now have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our East Sussex contract, based from our Eastbourne office. You’ll play a key role in managing the commercial aspects of our local authority partnership, ensuring best value, compliance, and continuous improvement across a varied and dynamic portfolio of work.

What you'll be doing

As Senior Quantity Surveyor, You’ll

  • Support the Commercial and Finance Manager in delivering commercial strategy and performance.
  • Manage the commercial lifecycle of assigned contracts, from cost forecasting and valuations to final accounts.
  • Lead subcontract management, including procurement, administration, variations, and final settlements.
  • Coach and support operational teams on commercial best practice and change management.
  • Work closely with finance colleagues on monthly WIP valuations, accruals, and reporting.
  • Champion a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and customer focus.
  • Promote Balfour Beatty’s values of Integrity, Teamwork, Excellence and Respect in every interaction.
Who we're looking for

You’ll Bring

  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in a highways or public realm environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of NEC3/NEC4 forms of contract.
  • Commercial acumen and the ability to deliver results in a collaborative team setting.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and influencing skills.
  • Strong IT skills (Excel, Word, commercial systems).
  • Ideally chartered (MRICS/MCInstCES) or working towards professional qualification.
