Service Advisor

Location: Westham

We are recruiting on behalf of our client for a Service Advisor position at their well-established independent garage in Eastbourne, East Sussex. Competitive basic salary of £30,000 to £35,000 per annum, with an OTE of £35,000
Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 5:30 pm, with some flexibility for childcare and personal commitments

Duties of a Service Advisor:

Act as the main point of contact for customers, delivering excellent customer service
Upsell additional services and motoring solutions during customer interactions
Communicate honestly and empathetically, particularly when conveying bad news
Liaise with workshop staff, including technicians and service team members, to provide timely vehicle updates
Manage customer bookings, scheduling, and workshop organisation
Maintain accurate workshop management systems and documentation
Uphold transparency and a proactive approach in a busy environment
Support workshop colleagues and contribute to a positive team atmosphere

Requirements of a Service Advisor:

Proven experience as a Service Advisor or in a similar role within the motor trade
Good knowledge of automotive servicing procedures and customer expectations
Ability to upsell and proactively suggest additional services
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, empathetic and confident in dealing with customers
Well organised, with the capability to manage multiple tasks efficiently

Experience with workshop management systems (e.g., Tech Man) is preferred but not essential
Professional attitude and proactive approach to customer care
Ability to work independently and effectively as part of a close-knit team
