Cover Teacher

Position: General Cover Teacher (Secondary)
Location: Eastbourne
Hours: 08:30 - 15:30
Contract Type: Day-to-Day, Short-Term & Long-Term Supply (Part-Time & Full-Time Available)
Daily Rate: £110-£140 per day for daily supply | Paid to scale for long-term roles with full PPA

Supply Desk are a nationwide education recruitment company specialising in Primary, SEND, and Secondary education. We place teaching staff in day-to-day and long-term placements across Brighton & Hove, East Sussex, and West Sussex.

We are now beginning conversations with Eastbourne secondary schools regarding their staffing needs for September 2026, and we are inviting applications from enthusiastic and reliable General Cover Teachers. We are looking for adaptable and confident General Cover Teachers to supervise and deliver pre-planned lessons across a range of subjects at KS3 and KS4. This flexible opportunity allows you to gain experience in different school environments while maintaining a healthy work-life balance.

Whether you're looking for daily supply, short-term cover, or long-term roles, we can offer part-time or full-time positions to suit your availability from September.

• Deliver pre-planned lessons across a variety of subjects
• Manage classroom behaviour effectively and ensure a positive learning environment
• Follow school policies and procedures
• Support students in completing set work and maintaining engagement
• Provide feedback to teaching staff where required

• Experience working in a secondary school setting (teaching, cover supervising, or similar)
• Strong classroom management skills
• Confidence delivering lessons across multiple subjects
• Flexibility, reliability, and a proactive attitude
• QTS is desirable but not essential
• A valid DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one)
