Manufacturing Engineer
Your role
Whilst undertaking aT Level Placement PC Eastbourne, your mission is to gain hands‑on experience in a real engineering environment. You will report to the Talent Development Specialist.
During the placement, you will gain hands‑on experience in a real engineering environment. Activities include:
- Assisting with manufacturing processes such as assembly, testing, and quality checks.
- Learning to read and interpret technical build guides and standard operating procedures and understanding how designs translate into production.
- Observing machine operation and maintenance under supervision.
- Applying health and safety practices in a live industrial setting.
- Collaborating with engineers and technicians to understand workflow, problem‑solving, and continuous improvement.
- Developing practical skills like tool handling, measurement, and basic fault‑finding.
This experience will help students connect classroom theory with real‑world engineering applications, preparing them for future technical roles.
The placement will take place as a block placement in June and July 2026.
To be successful in this role, you must currently be in the first or second year of a T Level Engineering programme. You should have a genuine interest in Edwards and our work, and be keen to apply the knowledge you’ve gained at college within a real engineering environment. This opportunity will allow you to put your learning into practice, develop new skills, and gain valuable industry experience.
Our selection process includes interviews and for some roles skills assessments to gain a deeper insights into your profile. We’re eager to get to know you, hear about your skills, and discuss your potential to grow with us.
We have two placement positions available. This advert will close on Friday 27th February 2026. Successful applicants will be contacted to organise a short Teams interview week commencing 9th or 16th March.
