We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established manufacturing organisation for a Quality Engineer to join their team in Eastbourne.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced quality professional to play a key role in driving continuous improvement across production processes. You will lead investigations into quality issues, support customer satisfaction, and help ensure products meet the highest industry and client standards.
This is a hands‑on role with occasional travel to customer sites for meetings and inspections.

- Lead and coordinate continuous improvement activities across the business
- Manage non‑conformances, customer complaints, and returns (RMA process)
- Conduct root cause analysis using tools such as 8D, 5 Whys, and Ishikawa
- Implement corrective and preventative actions to prevent reoccurrence
- Maintain and manage internal quality processes (NCR, ECN, CAR)
- Work closely with production teams to improve product quality and performance
- Support supplier selection and qualification processes
- Carry out inspection duties when required
- Liaise with customers to ensure high levels of service and satisfaction
- Participate in site visits and customer meetings as required
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing quality role
- Strong knowledge of continuous improvement tools and methodologies (e.g. 5S/6S, Kaizen, VSM, Pareto, 8D, 5 Whys)
- Experience managing quality processes and problem‑solving activities
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail
- Experience working in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work cross‑functionally
- Experience using CMM, Faro Arm, or metrology equipment
- Background in precision engineering or similar industries
- Experience with in vacuum technology or advanced manufacturing environments
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering (desirable)
- ONC/HNC in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing, or a relevant quality discipline
- Proactive and improvement‑focused mindset
- Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills
- Confident leading investigations and driving change
- Effective communicator with the ability to influence at all levels
- Innovative thinker who can challenge existing processes
