I am recruiting on behalf of my client, a highly respected engineering and manufacturing business, for an experienced Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Coordinator to join their team on a long-term contract basis.
This is an excellent opportunity for an EHS professional looking for flexibility while supporting a busy operation with a wide range of environmental, health and safety activities.
The successful Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Coordinator will play a key role in maintaining compliance with environmental, health and safety legislation, supporting operational teams, and helping to promote a positive safety culture throughout the business. This position is not solely focused on document control and manual updates; the Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Coordinator will also be involved in a variety of day-to-day EHS activities across the site.
Responsibilities- Implementing and maintaining company environmental, health and safety policies and procedures.
- Ensuring compliance with local, state and federal environmental, health and safety regulations.
- Monitoring legislative changes and advising the business on compliance requirements.
- Preparing, maintaining and updating EHS policies, procedures and associated documentation.
- Acting as a key point of contact for regulatory bodies and external agencies.
- Supporting the design and development of facilities, work areas and working practices from an EHS perspective.
- Conducting general EHS activities and providing practical support across the business.
- Assisting with risk reduction initiatives and promoting a proactive safety culture.
- Supporting environmental, health and safety projects as required.
- Previous experience within an Environmental, Health & Safety role.
- A good understanding of environmental, health and safety legislation and compliance requirements.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- The ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively.
- Experience liaising with regulatory bodies and external stakeholders.
- Relevant qualifications within Environmental, Health & Safety or a related discipline would be advantageous.
- Experience with in manufacturing, engineering or a similar industrial environment would be beneficial.
- £15.17 per hour.
- 21 hours per week.
- Preference for 3 x 7-hour days, although alternative working patterns may be considered where practical.
- No preferred working days, offering flexibility around your schedule.
- Long-term contract running through to December 2026.
