HSE Engineer

I am recruiting on behalf of my client, a highly respected engineering and manufacturing business, for an experienced Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Coordinator to join their team on a long‑term contract basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for an EHS professional looking for flexibility while supporting a busy operation with a wide range of environmental, health and safety activities.

The successful Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Coordinator will play a key role in maintaining compliance with environmental, health and safety legislation, supporting operational teams, and helping to promote a positive safety culture throughout the business. This position is not solely focused on document control and manual updates; the Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Coordinator will also be involved in a variety of day‑to‑day EHS activities across the site.

• Implementing and maintaining company environmental, health and safety policies and procedures
• Ensuring compliance with local, state and federal environmental, health and safety regulations
• Monitoring legislative changes and advising the business on compliance requirements
• Preparing, maintaining and updating EHS policies, procedures and associated documentation
• Acting as a key point of contact for regulatory bodies and external agencies
• Supporting the design and development of facilities, work areas and working practices from an EHS perspective
• Conducting general EHS activities and providing practical support across the business
• Assisting with risk reduction initiatives and promoting a proactive safety culture
• Supporting environmental, health and safety projects as required

• Previous experience within an Environmental, Health & Safety role
• A good understanding of environmental, health and safety legislation and compliance requirements
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• The ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively
• Experience liaising with regulatory bodies and external stakeholders
• Relevant qualifications within Environmental, Health & Safety or a related discipline would be advantageous
• Experience with in manufacturing, engineering or a similar industrial environment would be beneficial

• £15.17 per hour
• 21 hours per week
• Preference for 3 x 7‑hour days, although alternative working patterns may be considered where practical
• No preferred working days, offering flexibility around your schedule
• Long‑term contract running through to December 2026
