Customer Service Administrator
- Information Rights Case Officer

Pay: £15.06ph

PART TIME ONLY- 22 hours per week

About the Role

We are looking for a Information Rights Case Officer to support the effective management of information rights requests.

You will ensure that requests made under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (FOIA), Data Protection Act 2018, UK GDPR, Environmental Information Regulations (EIR) and related legislation are handled accurately, efficiently and within statutory deadlines.

Working closely with services across the Brighton and Hove areas, you will provide expert advice, guidance and support on information rights matters while contributing to continuous service improvement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and respond to information rights requests, including:
  • Subject Access Requests (SARs)
  • Freedom of Information (FOI) requests
  • Environmental Information Regulation (EIR) requests
  • Data protection enquiries
  • Provide specialist advice and guidance to members of the public, both by telephone and in writing.
  • Support customers in formulating and submitting requests, including vulnerable individuals and those with varying communication needs.
  • Log, track and maintain requests, ensuring compliance with response times and legislative requirements.
  • Liaise with services across the business to obtain information and ensure responses are accurate, complete and compliant.
  • Advise managers and stakeholders on information rights legislation, policy and best practice.
  • Deliver guidance, training and support to internal stakeholders where required.
  • Contribute to service improvement initiatives through research, analysis and the identification of best practice.
Essential Requirements
  • Knowledge & Qualifications
  • Good literacy and numeracy skills, including GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent).
  • Experience working within a busy, high-volume call and administrative environment.
  • Experience handling sensitive casework and supporting customers in challenging circumstances.
  • Sound knowledge of:
    Data Protection Act 2018, UK GDPR, Freedom of Information legislation, Subject Access Requests, Environmental Information Regulations or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Accept that this is a PART TIME position only. Successful candidates will be working 22 hours per week with some office presence required.
