Main duties of the jobWe are looking for an experienced, patient, and precise Phlebotomist to join our friendly general practice team. In this vital role, you will be the face of our morning and afternoon clinics, performing venepuncture for a diverse patient demographic. You will ensure blood samples are collected efficiently, accurately recorded, and safely prepared for laboratory transport. Working closely with our GPs, nursing team and allied healthcare professionals, you will provide a compassionate experience that puts anxious patients at ease.
About usWe are a growing GP practice, looking to recruit and additional phlebotomist to work with in our busy nursing team. We are a 10 site GP practice, looking after 47,000 patients in total.
Job responsibilities- Running Your Own Clinics:
You will work independently in your own treatment room, managing a steady stream of pre-booked patient appointments, with some on the day more urgent slots. Clinics are fast paced with 7 minute appointments. Plus ordering of phathology equipment for the practice. - Providing Excellent Care:
You will be the face of the surgery for many patients, using a gentle and reassuring manner to put anxious or nervous people at ease. - Spotless Accuracy:
You will perform strict identification checks, label blood tubes, and update patient records on our computer system (EMIS) without errors. - Teamwork:
While you run your own clinics, you are part of a supportive team of nurses, HCA's, GP's, Allied HCP's and admin team - Patient advocate:
You will be the patients' advocate and face of the surgery, referring to colleagues as required.
