Role Overview
Join the RAC as a Roadside Technician. As a Roadside Technician with a Level 2 Light Vehicle Maintenance qualification (or equivalent) and at least 2 years’ experience, you’ll receive a market‑competitive base salary of £36,400 and a realistic OTE of £61,000. Top performers can earn significantly more through bonuses and enhanced overtime rates.
Start and finish your shifts from your driveway. Demand‑led shifts average 40 hours per week, with optional overtime available.
Where You’ll WorkYou’ll be part of the Milton Keynes cluster, covering areas such as Milton Keynes, Bletchley, Newport Pagnell, Olney, Bedford, Ampthill, and Sandy. Work is organised locally so you can start and finish at home, focusing your day on getting members back on the road in your local area.
ResponsibilitiesAs a Roadside Technician within our Patrol division, you’ll deliver expert mechanical roadside repair, vehicle diagnostics, and emergency breakdown support across the UK. Whether it’s a flat battery, tyre change, or complex fault‑finding, you’ll provide quick, confident solutions and reassurance when our members need it most. You’ll start and end your day at home, tackling challenges head‑on and making a real impact on the roadside by combining technical expertise with outstanding member service.
Qualifications- Level 2 light vehicle maintenance qualification (or equivalent) with at least 2 years’ post‑qualification technical, electrical, and diagnostic experience

- Strong base pay of £36,400 and realistic OTE of £61,000, with top performers earning significantly more through bonuses and enhanced overtime rates
