Registered Children's Home Manager

Location:

Eastbourne. Salary: up £70,000 per annum (depending on experience). Full-Time | Permanent. Relocation Support Available for the Right Candidate. Full UK Driving Licence Preferred.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Registered Children's Home Manager to lead a specialist residential service supporting children and young people with Learning Disabilities (LD), complex behaviours, and mental health needs. The Role

As the Registered Manager, you will have overall responsibility for the day-to-day management of the home, ensuring children receive safe, high-quality, person-centred care within a therapeutic environment. You will lead and inspire your team, ensuring the home operates in full compliance with Ofsted regulations while promoting positive outcomes, emotional wellbeing, and stability for every young person.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the day-to-day operation of the children's home.
  • Ensure compliance with the Children's Homes Regulations 2015, Quality Standards, and Ofsted requirements.
  • Lead, support, and develop Deputy Managers, Senior Residential Support Workers, and Residential Support Workers.
  • Promote a trauma-informed and therapeutic culture throughout the home.
  • Oversee care planning, risk assessments, behaviour support plans, and safeguarding practices.
  • Ensure high-quality recording, audits, and quality assurance processes are maintained.
  • Build strong relationships with local authorities, social workers, education providers, CAMHS, therapists, and families.
  • Lead recruitment, staff development, supervision, and performance management.
  • Manage staffing levels, rotas, and operational budgets.
  • Drive continuous improvement and work towards achieving positive Ofsted outcomes.
About You

We're looking for an experienced and compassionate leader who is passionate about improving the lives of children and young people.

Essential Requirements
  • Previous experience as a Registered Manager, Children's Home Manager, Care Manager, or an experienced Deputy Manager within residential childcare.
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding, Ofsted regulations, and the Children's Homes Regulations.
  • Experience supporting children with Learning Disabilities, complex behaviours, or mental health needs.
  • Calm, resilient, and therapeutic leadership style.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills.
  • Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
Desirable
  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (completed, working towards, or willing to undertake).
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
