The RoleWe’re looking for a driven Area Sales Manager (ASM) to deliver profitable growth across 10 depots.
You’ll:
- Grow existing customer accounts
- Win new business
- Support branch teams to achieve sales & margin targets
- Build strong relationships with customers and suppliers
You’ll also manage your own customer ledger, driving revenue, protecting margin, and increasing market share.
What You’ll Be Doing Sales & Business Development- Deliver sales and margin targets
- Build and manage customer accounts through regular visits
- Identify and secure new business opportunities
- Cross-sell products and promote group services
- Monitor competitor activity and market trends
- Work closely with Branch & Area Managers
- Align sales strategies with branch targets
- Share pipeline activity and market insight
- Support branches in converting opportunities
- Conduct joint supplier/customer visits
- Promote product initiatives
- Stay up to date on product ranges and trends
- Maintain structured call planning
- Keep CRM/pipeline accurate and updated
- Ensure customers operate within credit limits
- Work with Credit Control to manage risk
- Resolve account queries efficiently
- Proven track record of sales growth
- Field sales or account management experience
- Strong commercial awareness (pricing & margin)
- Experience winning new business
- Industry knowledge preferred
- Strong negotiation and influencing skills
- Customer-focused relationship builder
- Well organised and self-motivated
- Proactive and commercially driven
- Analytical and solutions-focused
