Youth Worker – Youth Hubs East Sussex

We have an exciting opportunity to work as a casual Youth Worker at our Youth Hubs across East Sussex. As a Youth Worker you will nurture and support young people, helping them make informed choices and reach their full potential. You will support the Leader in Charge in the operation and running of the session, engaging young people in the community, offering support, advice and guidance, and handling safeguarding concerns as a team.
Sessions usually run in the afternoon and evening unless specified otherwise. We deliver sessions for young people aged 8 to 19 (up to 25 for SEN).
Session Types- Detached/Outreach – on‑the‑street sessions where we visit young people, provide activities and signpost to local services.
- Funky Teens – an SEN‑inclusive group for young people with mild to moderate learning needs, focusing on social and life skills.
- Drop‑in Youth Activity – open‑mixed groups to socialise and develop life skills through positive activities.
- LGBTQ+ – safe spaces for young people to explore identity and receive support.
- Juniors – open‑mixed groups to socialise and develop life skills through fun activities.
- Interpersonal skills with the ability to be sensitive to the needs of young people and relate to them at a meaningful level.
- Ability to design and deliver activities with and for young people.
- Ability to plan and deliver specific projects to engage young people.
- Access to wider training and development qualifications.
