Are you passionate about improving outcomes for victims and using data to drive service improvement? If so,

East Sussex Youth Justice Service is seeking an experienced and motivated practitioner to undertake a 12-month secondment as our Senior Practitioner (Victims). You will lead and develop our victim and restorative justice offer, ensuring victims of youth crime receive high‑quality support and opportunities to have their voices heard. Alongside providing practice supervision and quality assurance, you will analyse victim engagement, feedback and outcome data to identify trends, evaluate impact and drive service improvement.

Working collaboratively with partners, you will help strengthen restorative practice and contribute to safer communities.

We are looking for someone who can demonstrate:

  • Ability to analyse, interpret and clearly present data, some of which may be complex, in line with Data Protection regulations.
  • Able to work constructively with colleagues in other teams/agencies.
  • Understanding of Youth Justice issues, legislation and practice.
  • Understanding of the current local, regional and national issues facing young people.
  • Commitment to professional and personal development.

We welcome applications from individuals looking to develop their management experience whilst making a significant contribution to victim and restorative justice services.

Interviews will take place in person at the Youth Justice Service office at Hampden Park Eastbourne. These are anticipated to take place during the week commencing 21 September 2026.

Candidates may be asked to deliver a short presentation as part of the interview process.

This secondment offers an excellent opportunity to:

  • Develop management and supervisory skills.
  • Gain experience of operational service development and quality improvement.
  • Lead and shape victim and restorative justice practice across the service.
  • Build relationships with local, regional and national partners.
  • Contribute directly to improving outcomes for victims of crime.

We offer a diverse range of benefits to help and support you during your employment. More information can be found on our benefits page.
