Resource Officer

We are looking for an exceptional Resource Officer to join the Continuing Healthcare Team in Adult Social Care.

The Continuing Healthcare Team works in partnership with Health to assess Adults with complex and end of life care needs. Our role is to undertake multi-disciplinary assessments working with our local Integrated Commissioning Boards (ICB’s) to ensure people we serve get access to continuing care funding. As a Resource Officer in Adult Social Care, you will play a key role in the assessment of adults offering support, guidance and signposting where necessary.

To undertake your role, you will require or be willing to acquire knowledge of the legislation required for your role, including the Care Act (2014), Mental Capacity Act (2005), Equalities legislation and the Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards. You will also be expected to undertake the County’s section (42) safeguarding duties to protect and mitigate risks to the clients we serve. You will be assessing clients in line with our statutory duties such as section (9) assessment under the Care Act (2014), using a strength based, outcome focused approach.

• Have experience working in an Adult Social Care or Social Care setting
• Can communicate effectively with a range of people
• Are motivated about supporting others to achieve their outcomes
• Can meet the travel requirements of the role. You will be required to travel across East Sussex, including rural areas.
• Can demonstrate resilience and flexibility to manage their caseload efficiently and effectively.
