Safety & Compliance Manager

Job Family – Quality, Health, Safety, and the Environment

This family is dedicated to developing, implementing and maintaining effective safety and compliance programs that support health, safety and environmental management at all levels of the organisation.

Responsibilities
  • Establishing, maintaining, and continuously improving the organisation's Safety Management System (SMS) to meet regulatory requirements
  • Conducting regular audits and inspections to ensure adherence to relevant aviation regulations, such as those set by the CAA, EASA & FAA
  • Control and issue of Certifying Staff personal authorisations under CAA, EASA & FAA
  • Lead / assist in the investigation of safety occurrences, including mandatory occurrence reports (MORs), and implementing corrective actions
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with aviation operations
  • Provide training and support to staff on safety procedures and regulatory requirements, promoting a positive safety culture
  • Act as a point of contact for the CAA, EASA and other relevant authorities, staying informed about regulatory changes and ensuring timely implementation
  • Prepare and present reports on safety performance, audit findings, and incident investigations to the Accountable Manager
  • Assist in the development and review of safety policies, procedures, and manuals
  • Identify opportunities for improvement in safety and compliance and implement necessary changes
  • Work within established global and Survitec QHSE framework, policy and processes, established regulatory and governance systems and protocols, as well as external regulation and guidelines
  • Carries out a range of complex activities to generate evidence to validate existing and new quality assurance test methods and procedures
  • Contribution to quality management activities and assurance under the guidance of senior leadership
  • Help resolve external/internal customer or supplier inquiries providing information on complex processes and policy requirements
  • Ensure reports, policies, and procedures reflect current laws and regulations affecting Survitec’s business
  • Organises and prepares complex documents using a variety of computer applications and data sources
  • Microsoft Office; prepares key data for special reports
  • Priorities own monthly schedule and ensures tasks are completed in a timely manner
  • Create an environment where team members feel valued and engaged, and can contribute to the safety and governance programs
  • Understand the most effective and efficient processes together with honesty, integrity, and authenticity

Experience and qualification As per the requirements for CAA/EASA 145.A.30

5 years of relevant work experience, of which at least 2 years should be from the aeronautical industry in an appropriate position.

A relevant engineering or technical degree, or an aircraft technician or maintenance engineer qualification with additional education that is acceptable to the CAA. “Relevant engineering or technical degree” means a degree from aeronautical, mechanical, electrical, electronic, avionics or other studies that are relevant to the maintenance and/or continuing airworthiness of aircraft/aircraft components.
