Project Manager (Small Works & Variations)

We are seeking a proactive Project Manager (Small Works & Variations) to oversee all aspects of small works and variation projects within an Acute Healthcare environment. This role requires strong technical knowledge, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to delivering projects safely, on time, and within budget.
Job Description
You will be responsible for managing multiple stakeholders, ensuring compliance with Health and Safety legislation, and maintaining financial control throughout the project lifecycle. The successful candidate will demonstrate a thorough understanding of CDM regulations and healthcare standards, while driving service excellence and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all aspects of small works and variation projects within an Acute Healthcare environment, ensuring timely delivery and compliance with CDM regulations.
- Liaise with design teams, clients, and subcontractors to coordinate project requirements and maintain effective communication.
- Ensure full compliance with Health and Safety legislation, ISS policies, and Healthcare Technical Memoranda.
- Oversee procurement of subcontractors and materials, ensuring value for money and adherence to budgetary constraints.
- Approve RAMS and ensure appropriate risk assessments, safe systems of work, and PPE are in place and followed.
- Maintain accurate documentation and financial records for monthly forecasting and reporting obligations.
- Chair weekly update meetings with clients and participate in Hard FM operational review meetings.
- Allocate specific projects to Estates Managers and ensure planned maintenance regimes for new assets are updated in CAFM systems.
Professional and Personal Competencies/Qualifications
- Minimum HND or equivalent vocational qualification in a Building Services subject, or demonstrable experience.
- Technical management experience.
- Demonstrable understanding of CDM regulations.
- IOSH Managing Safely qualification.
- UK driving licence.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Good numeracy and budgeting ability.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project);
AutoCAD experience is desirable. - Excellent organisational skills and ability to interpret complex information.
