Executive Recruiting Specialist | LHH | Bridging ambition and opportunity—one match at a time.LHH is seeking a Unit Controller who will oversee the accounting functions of multiple business units, including P&L, General Ledger Accounting, Month-end Close, Inventory Control, and Operational Partnership. Reporting to the Corporate Controller, this role represents a key business partner to unit leadership and will provide financial insights and ensure accurate recording of accounting activity through process management and strong controls to support informed decision‑making.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintain a strong control environment around financials and cash flow, with particular focus on inventory control.
- Manage month‑end closing process to ensure integrity of financial results in a consistent and timely manner in accordance with US GAAP and internal closing processes.
- Collaborate proactively with leadership teams to provide clear and accurate financial performance insights; act as an advisor on accounting and finance matters.
- Monitor cash position with a proactive approach while monitoring risk safeguards.
- Participate in business reviews with senior executives to explain key variances to budget, prior year, or expectations.
- Oversee and review bill of materials accuracy to ensure systems reflect precise inventory flow.
- Command product costing and margin analysis, including cost movement impacts.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on process efficiency and cost reduction.
- Enhance utilization of ERP systems and technology to improve financial monitoring and reporting.
- Assist with external audits and reviews.
- Support annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes.
- Analyze and approve financial decisions through cash flow and margin analysis.
- Oversee commission programs and other financial planning and analysis efforts to support pricing and business decisions.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
- CPA preferred (active or inactive).
- 5-10 years of accounting experience.
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP within manufacturing processes.
- Experience with cost accounting and operational accounting preferred.
- Proven ability to drive process improvement and change.
- Advanced Excel and proficiency in MS Office applications.
