Eastleigh Borough Council – an ambitious council committed to making a positive difference for all its residents, businesses and visitors – is looking for a Managing Quantity Surveyor (Residential) to support the exciting One Horton Heath programme, a flagship development project.

Key Responsibilities

• Providing commercial management of all residential elements of the One Horton Heath project.
• Leading other members of the quantity surveying team.
• Managing efficient procurement of services.
• Managing contracts and budgets.
• Leading in negotiations relating to project delivery.
• Overseeing all procurement services.
• Producing and managing construction budgets.
• Tendering all external appointments for both consultants and contractors.

Skills and Experience

• Demonstrable track record on similar projects.
• Experience in residential construction.
• Senior quantity surveying experience.
• Experience of managing consultants, contractors and suppliers, working with JCT and NEC suites of contracts and developing budgets.
• Able to demonstrate a good working knowledge and experience of procurement and cost management.
• Demonstrable experience of people management.
• Ability to communicate clearly.
• 28 to 31 days’ annual leave (dependent on Local Government continuous service).
• Hybrid working arrangements and ability to accrue up to 2 days’ additional leave per month (subject to operational requirements – pro rata for part-time staff).

Salary: Competitive based on experience.

Contract and Hours: Permanent, full-time.
