We are seeking an experienced Site Engineer to join a major highways project in Winchester. This is a freelance role for a hands‑on engineer with strong civils, earthworks, and structures experience. The role will provide exposure to a high‑profile infrastructure project, working closely with a Tier 1 or Tier 2 contractor.

• Manage and oversee day‑to‑day site operations on a major highways project.
• Carry out setting‑out and surveying activities accurately.
• Support project delivery for civils, earthworks, and structures.
• Assist with quantity surveying (QS) tasks, including measurement, cost monitoring, and reporting.
• Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and stakeholders to ensure works are delivered safely, on time, and to specification.
• Utilize Dalux software for site documentation, reporting, and coordination (desirable).
• Ensure compliance with Health & Safety and quality standards.

• Proven experience as a Site Engineer on major highways or civil infrastructure projects.
• Strong civils, earthworks, and structures knowledge.
• Previous experience working with Tier 1 and Tier 2 contractors preferred.
• Setting‑out experience is a must.
• Experience with quantity surveying (QS) tasks on‑site.
• Competent with site software, ideally Dalux.
• Eligible for CIS payment (freelance).
