Contracts Manager

About this Role

Reporting to the Area Manager and working alongside two other Contracts Managers, you will be responsible for the successful delivery of 2-3 projects typically from input to tender and second stage preconstruction, then throughout the construction phase to handover through your construction teams.

• Client liaison, input to tender and preconstruction, programming of work, input to design development, input to buildability.
• Management of project site teams, ensuring company standards for health and safety and quality assurance.
• Staffing, forecasting, coordination and progress meetings.
• Internal reporting on progress, issue resolution, and supporting project teams to achieve successful delivery on programme, budget and quality.

• Ideally from a Tier 1 or 2 main contractor background.
• Extensive practical experience managing new build and refurbishment design and build projects for a main contractor.
• Progressed up through the Site Manager / Project Manager route with a successful track record.
• Experienced Senior / Project Manager looking to step up, especially with multi-site experience.
• Excellent contractual, commercial and technical construction knowledge, with the ability to plan, programme and drive construction through site teams.
• High standards, attention to detail, drive to deliver work on time, spec and budget.
• Candidates must be able to prove eligibility to work in the UK.

This opportunity is with the regional office of a larger national contractor group, with an annual turnover of £25-30m. The scope of works includes education, sports and leisure, healthcare, local authority and commercial projects. Projects range from £3m to £15m on average, with the main focus on the South Coast/London area of Hampshire, Berkshire, Surrey and Sussex.
