Secondary Learning Support Assistant – Eastleigh
Prospero Teaching is recruiting a dedicated and enthusiastic Secondary Learning Support Assistant to support students in secondary schools across the Eastleigh area. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about education and enjoys helping young people overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential.
Working alongside teachers and support staff, you will provide tailored support to students who may require additional assistance with learning, organisation, confidence, behaviour, or classroom engagement. Support may be delivered on a 1:1 basis or through small‑group interventions, depending on the needs of the school and students.
This role is ideal for individuals looking to gain valuable experience within secondary education while making a positive impact on students' academic and personal development.
The Role- Provide 1:1 support and small‑group interventions for students
- Support pupils during lessons across a range of secondary subjects
- Help students stay focused, engaged, and motivated in their learning
- Assist teachers with classroom activities and learning resources
- Encourage positive behaviour and learning habits
- Support students' confidence, independence, and academic progress
- Work collaboratively with teachers and support staff
- Promote a positive, inclusive, and structured learning environment
- Follow safeguarding and school policies consistently
- Experience working with young people
- Patient, supportive, and approachable manner
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Able to build positive relationships with students and staff
- Flexible and adaptable approach
- Reliable and able to work effectively as part of a team
- Backgrounds in coaching, youth work, tutoring, childcare, or education welcomed

Full‑time, term‑time - Pay Rate: £14.25 - £15.66 per hour
- Key Stages: KS3 & KS4
- Experience working with young people desirable
- SEN experience beneficial but not essential
- Safeguarding training can be provided
- Free accredited CPD, including safeguarding & behaviour management
