Prospero Teaching is recruiting a dedicated and enthusiastic Secondary Teaching Assistant to support students in secondary schools across the Eastleigh area. This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about education who enjoys helping young people develop confidence, engage with learning, and achieve their full potential.
Working closely with teachers and support staff, you will provide classroom support and assist students who may require additional guidance with their learning, organisation, confidence, or behaviour. Support may be delivered on a 1:1 basis or through small-group interventions, depending on the needs of the school.
This role is ideal for individuals looking to gain valuable experience within secondary education while making a positive impact on students' development.
The Role:- Support teaching and learning across KS3 and KS4
- Provide 1:1 support and assist with small-group interventions
- Help students remain engaged, focused, and motivated during lessons
- Assist teachers with classroom activities, lesson preparation, and learning resources
- Support positive behaviour and classroom routines
- Build strong relationships with students and staff
- Encourage student confidence, participation, and progress
- Promote a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
- Follow safeguarding and school policies consistently
- Experience working with young people
- Patient, supportive, and approachable manner
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Able to build positive relationships with students and staff
- Adaptable and responsive to varying learning needs
- Reliable and able to work effectively as part of a team
- Backgrounds in youth work, coaching, tutoring, childcare, or education welcomed

- Key Stages: KS3 & KS4
Experience, Training & Safeguarding:
- Experience working with young people desirable
- SEN experience beneficial but not essential
- Safeguarding training can be provided
- Free accredited CPD, including safeguarding & behaviour management
