Engineering Design Lead

Were working with an established Engineering business that Designs and delivers complex Pumping solutions across the Water, Environmental and Infrastructure sectors. Theyre looking for an Engineering Design Lead to take responsibility for a specialist team covering Design, Project Design Engineering, Setting Out and Surveying. Youll lead the design process from initial site requirements through surveying, 3D modelling and detailed design to construction, while developing the team and improving how projects are designed and delivered.

Duties & Responsibilities Lead and develop a team of Design Specialists, Project Design Engineers and Setting Out and Surveying Engineers Plan workloads and allocate people and resources across multiple engineering projects Oversee projects from site survey and concept development through modelling, detailed design and construction documentation Review drawings, models and technical information to ensure accuracy, quality and compliance Oversee the development of 3D models for complex pumping applications using Autodesk Revit Ensure construction drawings, plans, elevations, sections and technical details provide clear information for project and installation teams Coordinate with Solutions, Engineering, Sales and Operations to turn project requirements into practical design solutions Manage design changes, approvals, model control, Revit families, templates and design standards Coach and develop the design team, maintaining strong standards across quality, performance and delivery Drive improvements across design processes, technical standards and team capability Skills & Experience Required Strong mechanical engineering background with extensive design or project engineering experience Previous experience leading an engineering or design team as a Design Lead, Engineering Team Leader, Lead Engineer or similar Strong technical design capability with the confidence to review drawings, models and engineering information Experience planning and allocating engineering resources across multiple projects Strong Autodesk Revit capability, ideally including models, families, templates and design standards Experience coordinating mechanical designs with wider engineering, architectural and building services requirements Strong project planning and organisational skills

Experience with in Mechanical Engineering, Water, Pumping, Civil Engineering, Construction or a related environment HND or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering advantageous, although relevant experience will also be considered AutoCAD and site surveying experience beneficial Knowledge of GPS or Robotic EDM surveying equipment advantageous Summary Position:
