Part-Time Tax Accountant

My client is looking for a skilled Tax Accountant to join our team on a part-time basis, playing a key role in ensuring accurate VAT compliance and supporting the wider business on a range of tax matters. In this role, you'll help strengthen financial controls, identify opportunities to improve processes, and provide practical tax support to internal stakeholders. • Prepare accurate and timely VAT and GST returns for a portfolio of UK entities.
• Maintain and reconcile tax balance sheet accounts, ensuring robust internal controls.
• Conduct monthly tax control checks and assist with audit requirements.
• Provide clear, practical tax advice to teams across the organisation.
• Identify and implement process improvements in tax compliance and reporting.
• Monitor changes in tax legislation and assess their impact on the business.
• Collaborate with finance and IT teams to maintain system accuracy for VAT reporting.

• Strong knowledge of UK VAT legislation and accounting principles.
• Proven experience in preparing tax returns and managing compliance processes.
• Proficiency in SAP and Excel, with confidence handling large data sets.
• Excellent attention to detail, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
