Full time (Hybrid) Role details A leading business in the Retail sector is seeking a detail oriented Financial Accountant to join their finance team. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting across multiple entities and divisions. You will support both month-end and year-end close processes, preparing financial statements in line with relevant accounting standards and performing thorough balance sheet reconciliations.
Responsibilities of the Financial Accountant Support the month-end and year-end close processes by reconciling accounts, analysing variances, and providing clear explanations for any discrepancies identified. Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with relevant accounting standards, ensuring all reporting deadlines are met with precision. Perform detailed balance sheet reconciliations to ensure the accuracy of all financial data across multiple entities.
Contribute to group disclosure packs as well as broader financial reporting requirements, ensuring all information is accurate and submitted on time. Ensure full compliance with accounting standards, company policies, and relevant legislation while supporting a strong internal control environment. Assist the tax team with transfer pricing arrangements and intercompany loan agreements, ensuring all documentation is complete and compliant. Ensure compliance with statutory requirements by preparing VAT returns, liaising with auditors during annual audits, and implementing recommendations as appropriate.
Contribute to process improvements within the finance function by identifying inefficiencies, suggesting enhancements, and supporting the implementation of best practices.
