504 Coordinator – Stipend Position

Samuel Staples Elementary School is seeking an organized, knowledgeable staff member to serve as the school's 504 Coordinator. This stipend position will support the consistent and timely implementation of the Section 504 process and serve as a point person for coordinating related meetings, documentation, and follow-up.

Responsibilities include:

• Oversee and coordinate the school-based Section 504 process
• Schedule initial, annual review, and other 504 meetings
• Facilitate 504 meetings in collaboration with families and school staff
• Coordinate any follow-up assessments, data collection, or additional information requested by the 504 team
• Draft, finalize, and maintain Section 504 Plans in CT-SEDS
• Ensure required documentation and procedural steps are completed in a timely manner
• Track student testing accommodations and support staff in ensuring accommodations are accurately documented and implemented
• Maintain organized records and monitor timelines for reviews and follow-up
• Communicate with teachers, service providers, administrators, and families as needed throughout the 504 process

Preferred Qualifications:

• Strong knowledge of Section 504 requirements and school-based accommodation planning
• Experience using CT-SEDS
• Strong organizational, communication, and facilitation skills
• Ability to manage multiple timelines, meetings, and documentation requirements
• Attention to detail and ability to maintain confidential student information
• Ability to collaborate effectively with staff, families, and administrators

Stipend: $3600
