Kindergarten Part Time Paraeducator - LONG TERM SUB

Samuel Staples Elementary School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to serve as a part-time para educator for our kindergarten classroom on a long-term substitute basis. This role is essential in supporting our teachers and providing a nurturing and engaging learning environment for our young students. The ideal candidate will have a passion for early childhood education and a commitment to fostering the academic, social, and emotional development of children.

• Assist the classroom teacher in implementing daily lesson plans and educational activities.
• Provide one-on-one and small group support to students, reinforcing learning concepts and promoting skill development.
• Supervise students during classroom activities, recess, and other school events, ensuring a safe and positive environment.
• Help prepare classroom materials and resources, including organizing supplies and setting up learning stations.
• Monitor student progress and behavior, providing feedback to the teacher regarding individual student needs and achievements.
• Assist in maintaining a clean and organized classroom environment conducive to learning.
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff, fostering positive relationships within the school community.
• Participate in staff meetings and professional development opportunities as required.
• Support the emotional and social development of students, promoting positive interactions and conflict resolution skills.

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in early childhood education or a related field is preferred.
• Experience working with young children, preferably in an educational setting.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage effectively with students, parents, and staff.
• Patience, empathy, and a genuine love for working with young children.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and follow directions from the classroom teacher.
• Basic knowledge of child development and age-appropriate educational practices.
• Must pass a background check and any required health screenings.
• Flexible schedule with availability during school hours.
