Provides exceptional patient care in collaboration with anesthesiologists, surgeons and other physicians to deliver anesthesia for medical and surgical procedures.
Call CRNA – Schedule RequirementsAvailability to work off‑shifts, weekends, and holidays as part of the restricted in‑house call rotation in partnership with other members of the core call team. Willingness to respond to emergency calls and provide anesthesia services within the hospital setting. Required to give 90 days' notice when transitioning or resigning from the call team.
Responsibilities- Clinical Care
- Implement accurate, safe, patient‑centric anesthetic care.
- Professional Skill
- Understands physiologic implications and anesthetic considerations of surgical procedures, constantly monitors vital signs, capnography, and pulse oximetry during anesthesia according to ASA guidelines.

- Ensures appropriate documentation within the accordance of hospital and regulatory requirements and protects information from unauthorized access, modification, destruction, or disclosure.

- Demonstrates high standard of moral and ethical behavior, professionalism, compassion, and commitment to patient care.

- Continuously engages in projects that maintain and advance professional competency.
Education – Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist program completion, graduate of a Nurse Anesthesia Educational Program accredited by the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists (CANA) and Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Programs. Current State of Connecticut Nursing License, Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) licensure in the State of Connecticut.
Experience – Prefer clinical working experience as a CRNA within the given specialty/service line recommended, but none required. APRNs, PAs, CRNAs and CNMs are required to be appointed to the Affiliated Medical Staff of a YNHHS Hospital and credentialed through the Medical Staff process. Evidence of current competence to practice as an APRN, PA, CRNA or CNM via reference letters must be obtainable during the Medical Staff appointment process.
Licensure – AANA Certification, State of CT RN and APRN License, ACLS, DEA Registration and State of CT Controlled Substance Registration.
Special Skills – Sharp concentration and focus, ability to stay calm under stressful conditions, clear communication with surgeons and surgical support team, ability to inspire trust in patients, anesthetic patient management must be immediate and responsive.
