Overview

Maintenance Supervisor role at Celeste Industries Corporation. Supervises maintenance personnel, provides technical direction, and ensures proper scheduling and planning of maintenance throughout the facility. Responsible for fiscal and material resourcing, tracking completed work, and developing a preventative maintenance program.

Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate maintenance personnel, provide customer service to the operation, and enforce safety procedures in compliance with OSHA regulations.
  • Drive continuous improvement within the maintenance department and the operation.
  • Direct maintenance resource allocation, prepare work schedules, prioritize work requests, and determine materials, equipment, and labor required to complete requests.
  • Meet with Production Supervisors to engage production work order needs and support operational KPI attainment.
  • Engage in equipment troubleshooting, lead root cause analysis of breakdowns, and own asset management activities.
  • Observe and inspect jobs in progress, provide feedback on materials use and best practices.
  • Advise leadership on feasibility of new equipment or improvements, project feasibility, and equipment status or breakdowns.
  • Support and build the maintenance pipeline, backlog, job plan documentation, and maintenance budget; maintain and update critical assets and plan spares to decrease downtime.
  • Source parts and materials, provide alternate costing options, and establish a just-in-time parts inventory network to minimize stock overhead.
  • Assist in developing and executing employee performance metrics and provide regular feedback.
  • Collaborate with production supervision to ensure first-line maintenance is performed by operators.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert during problem solving and brainstorming with Plant leadership.
  • Review and verify employee time sheets and submit to payroll; participate in personnel decisions and disciplinary actions following internal guidelines.
  • Provide after-hours support by being available or coordinating coverage for supervised staff.
  • Adhere to all regulations, policies, work procedures, and instructions.
  • May perform duties beyond those specified in this description.
Education & Experience
  • High school diploma / GED required; post-high school education (Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred) or experience in mechanical or electrical fields within manufacturing maintenance.
  • 5+ years of direct maintenance supervision experience.
  • 1-3 years of maintenance planning experience.
  • Familiar with common OSHA safety programs.
  • Lean manufacturing experience; strong leadership and organizational skills preferred.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong multi-tasking skills and technical aptitude.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to build strong internal and external relationships.
  • Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
  • Ability to read mechanical and electrical schematics and troubleshoot industrial maintenance equipment with tools.
  • Basic controls and automation experience, including troubleshooting through HMIs and ability to read ladder logic in PLC systems.
  • Ability to provide direction, manage complexity, and drive performance.
  • Willingness and ability to travel as necessary.

Compensation
