Description:
ED RN - Rotating Night/Evening shifts. 36 to 48 hours per week. First-time travelers are accepted. Patient age range includes infants to geriatrics. Patient diagnoses vary but encompass all systems and complex conditions. This is a fast-paced Emergency Department setting. Patient ratios are typically 1:4, potentially increasing to 1:5 with lower acuity. Weekends are required every other weekend. Holiday coverage is required as scheduled.
Floating may be necessary within the specialty and affiliated facilities. Pre-scheduled on-call shifts are not required. Daily census averages 90 patient visits. The unit comprises 32 rooms and 36 beds. Interdisciplinary support includes Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, and Radiology, among others. Candidates must be comfortable floating within the specialty with no restrictions or special requests. Successful candidates will manage a variety of emergency conditions, including abdominal pain, acute psychosis, and respiratory infections.
Essential skills include IV management, care of ventilated patients, and administration of emergency medications. Compliance with onboarding procedures is required prior to starting.
