Essential FunctionPlans, directs, and coordinates activities around all maintenance equipment. Provides technical expertise and project management for various equipment undertakings. Specifically, this position will focus on the CNC troubleshooting, repairs and controls of existing equipment and lead the design of new equipment. This position may also focus on other manufacturing equipment such as robotic systems.

- Create and maintain a culture where workplace safety is part of everything we do. Provide the safest possible workplace to our employees by modeling and following all company safety policies, reporting any incidents or unsafe conditions immediately to SILFEX management.
- Develop and maintain a thorough working knowledge of the Silfex Quality Management System and properly apply Quality Procedures and Operating Procedures, as appropriate.
- Contribute to the implementation of various manufacturing improvements including 5S, Lean, etc.
- Interface with operations and engineering personnel to improve product quality, compliance, safety, reliability and reduce maintenance costs.
- Manage large capital projects up to $1M and large equipment installations.
- Be a technical resource for the department (CNC).
- Incorporate multiple disciplines (electrical, quality, production, design) to create solutions.
- Analyze maintenance data to identify trends in equipment and performance.
- Troubleshoot unscheduled maintenance and equipment failures. Perform root cause analysis and take actions to improve equipment and processes.
- Make recommendations on actions that can be taken to reverse adverse trends.
- Create maintenance procedures and policies for new equipment.
- Create a culture of best practices sharing.
- Provide technical expertise to plant personnel on troubleshooting failures, repairs and evaluating equipment.
- Optimize equipment uptime, reliability and efficiency.
- Focus heavily on the CNC troubleshooting, repairs and controls of existing equipment.
- Determine feasibility of designing new plant equipment or modifying existing facilities considering costs, available space, time limitations, company planning, and other technical and economic factors.
- Evaluate manufacturing processes by designing and conducting research programs; applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling and materials; conferring with equipment vendors and soliciting observations from operators.
- Evaluate maintenance programs (preventive, predictive, TPM & FMEA) ensuring minimal equipment downtime by analyzing maintenance processes and recommending preventative maintenance programs, as well as drive process improvements.
