Job Title: Wellness Center Ambassador – Health and Wellness Center

Location: HMH PHYSICIAN SERVICES, INC., Borough of Eatontown, New Jersey

Overview

The Wellness Center Guest Ambassador serves as a welcoming host for patients visiting the Health and Wellness Center. This position welcomes guests and greets them upon arrival, supports way finding, provides clerical support to ensure a positive and tailored experience, checks in patients, and assists with registration or scheduling. The Ambassador ensures that every patient and visitor has a cohesive and positive experience throughout their visit.

Responsibilities
  • Proactively greet all guests to the Health and Wellness Center using proper verbal and non‑verbal communication and facilitate each patient’s visit through various points of their journey.
  • Remain visible at the point of entry and maintain a professional appearance in line with attire standards.
  • Greets patients and visitors promptly, courteously and helpfully, maintaining a smile and direct eye contact.
  • Obtain and verify demographic information when required.
  • Direct patients to accurate locations or investigate guests’ needs to facilitate registration, check‑in or scheduling.
  • Escort or arrange escort for patients requiring a wheelchair to their location.
  • Make confirmation calls, complete check‑in upon arrival, and announce patient arrival to the appropriate department.
  • Answer telephone calls and facilitate calls in accordance with organizational and departmental standards.
  • Enforce Access Control by advising guests of visiting and access policies, alerting security to violations, and assisting with visitor situations. Complete event reports as needed.
  • Explain parking options and address concerns.
  • Handle routine inquiries/issues and direct patient complaints to appropriate individuals.
  • Conduct routine environmental observations (cleanliness, noise) and address issues in coverage areas such as lobby, restrooms, and wheelchairs.
  • Adhere to all HMH, hospital and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Act as a resource for visitors waiting in coverage areas.
  • Maintain high department morale and smooth shift transitions by maintaining good working relationships with colleagues and volunteers, completing all scheduled shift changes.
  • Stand for all or part of shift and physically assist patients and visitors as required.
  • Perform other duties and/or projects as assigned.
  • Establish relationships to ensure all matters are communicated efficiently between the medical team, service personnel, and supervisors.
  • Serve as a patient contact for clerical matters regarding patient care.
  • Provide secretarial support as assigned.
  • Schedule tests or appointments or support patients with digital self‑service.
  • Use digital solutions to guide patients or support check‑in, registration, or scheduling.
  • Provide support for receiving mail, supplies, and restocking for all Wellness Center areas.
  • Adhere to HMH Organizational competencies and standards of behavior.
Qualifications

Required:

  • High School diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • Minimum of one year of work experience.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast‑paced, visible environment while maintaining professional confidence.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal communication, problem‑solving, and service recovery skills.
  • Computer proficiency.
  • Past experience with a Matrix reporting environment.

Preferred:

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree.
  • Minimum of one year of front desk, reception, or hospitality experience.
  • Patient Advocacy Certification.
  • Bilingual ability.
Compensation

Starting at $18.36 per hour. Compensation is benchmarked against market data and may vary based on experience, education, and other non‑discriminatory factors. Partial‑time positions are available (20+ hours per week). Benefits include comprehensive health, dental, vision, paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and retirement plans.
