Responsibilities- Perform procedures according to departmental format, completing exams in allotted time.
- Execute required daily clerical duties, including the use of Epic and other computer systems for patient scheduling.
- Conduct complex technical tasks using high‑frequency sound waves to detect anatomical abnormalities in breast tissue.
- Identify patient images with correct name, MRN, breast side, and technologist initials.
- Assist radiologists with biopsy studies and color‑flow ultrasound as required.
- Prepare and set up medical supplies, instruments, and equipment.
- Prepare patients for diagnostic procedures, explain procedures, and position patients for each anatomical view.
- Perform portable breast imaging on ER and inpatient units as needed.
- Interview and discharge patients after procedures.
- Ensure proper labeling of specimen bags.
- Evaluate the technical quality of images.
- Obtain and process images of pathogenic conditions per standard procedures.
- Maintain records of ultrasound images, archiving and de‑archiving data as required.
- Calibrate, clean, and perform routine maintenance on equipment.
- Clean and sterilize instruments, supplies, and equipment. Stock and replenish supplies as needed.
- Lift a minimum of 25 lbs., push and pull a minimum of 50 lbs., and stand a minimum of 8 hours a day.
- Greet in/out patients using A.I.D.E.T. standards.
- Maintain scheduled shifts, including holidays and weekends.
- Provide overtime as needed to ensure continuous quality patient care.
- Identify the needs of the patient population served and modify care accordingly, communicating at the patient’s level of understanding.
- Adhere to policies of Employee , Standards of Behavior, Attendance, Punctuality, and Organizational Competencies.
- Perform other duties as directed by supervisory personnel.
- Graduate of an approved Ultrasound School.
- A.R.D.M.S registered.
- Minimum of 2 years training in Allied Health or College.
- Certified in Breast within 6 months of hire.
- Capable of performing CPR.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient computer skills including, but not limited to, Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
Skills and Abilities
Preferred
- Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience in ultrasound.
- Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Certification or Breast Sonography Certification within 6 months of entering position.
- Maintain 30 CEU Credits within a three‑year period.
Compensation
Starting at $43.63 Hourly. The posted rate reflects a reasonable estimate of the minimum base pay for this role in compliance with the New Jersey Pay Transparency Act. Total rewards include health, dental, vision, paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and retirement benefits.
