As a Field Engineer you will:
- Work closely with subcontractors, technicians, and mechanics to understand and coordinate agreements and work scope.
- Safely manage operations in accordance with company policy and procedures; aggressively work to minimize hazards and to avoid/manage claims.
- Develop HVAC control drawings, schedules, submittals, sequences of operations, material lists, network layouts, electrical schematics and as built drawings; select hardware designs from several different control vendors.
- Design HVAC control programs and HVAC Building Automation Systems.
- Assist in compiling cost estimates and prepare proposals; provide technical recommendations on projects.
- Aggressively perform continuous self-study, to maintain a competitive edge in the industry and company’s standards, practices, and product lines; complete certifications as required.
- Perform material ordering and verification.
- Assist in providing direction and support to field teams in the installation and execution of contracts.
- Perform and assist in the commissioning of the controls and associated equipment.
- Provide assistance to design engineers and project managers during all project phases.
- Local and regional travel; variable based on project assignment.
- Actively participate in programs, policies, and initiatives designed to enhance the overall good of the company and corporation.
Experience/Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, or a related field of study, OR 2-year associate degree (HVAC, mechanical, or electrical) and a minimum of 2 years’ experience.
- Five years’ experience with HVAC Temperature Controls Service and Installation.
- Strong knowledge of engineering fundamentals, commissioning, HVAC concepts, and business operations.
- Advanced technical aptitude and advanced computer skills, including MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), Adobe Writer, Visio, and basic Windows.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; demonstrated interpersonal skills to effectively represent the company in an ethical and professional manner consistent with our values and mission.
- Valid state driver’s license with ability to schedule local and regional travel; variable based on project assignment.
