Job Description:

** JOB SUMMARY
** The Biomedical Equipment Technician I  highly technical position that serves our patients through creative, high quality, biomedical equipment support and technical assistance for clinical associates in a professional, timely and cost effective manner. This individual is required to have a high level of specialized technical ability in problem solving, use of test equipment and service documentation to maintain a wide variety of equipment types used for patient diagnostics and treatment, clinical laboratory, radiology, surgery and other medical and support departments.
** JOB QUALIFICATIONS
**** EDUCATION
* ** For positions requiring education beyond a high school diploma or equivalent, educational qualifications must be from an institution whose accreditation is recognized by the Council for Higher Education and Accreditation.
*** Minimum

Required:

** Associate of Applied Sciences Degree,
** or
* * certificate of equivalent Military/Technical education, in Biomedical Engineering/Equipment Technology
** or
* * Associates of Applied Sciences Degree, equivalent Military/Technical education, in Electronics Engineering/Equipment Technology.
** Preferred/Optional:
** Associate of Applied Sciences Degree,
** or
* * certificate of equivalent Military/Technical education, in Biomedical Engineering/Equipment Technology.
** EXPERIENCE
* *** Minimum

Required:

** Biomedical Engineering/Equipment Technology internship or equivalent internship experience. Ability to work independently and as team member with other staff with minimal supervision and under high stress situations.
** Preferred/Optional:
** None
* * CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES
*** The following licensure(s), certification(s), registration(s), etc., are required for this position.  Licenses with restrictions are subject to review to determine if restrictions are substantially related to the position.
*** Minimum

Required:

** Possession of a valid motor vehicle operator's license as verified through appropriate licensing agency. Must meet the driving requirements and criteria acceptable to MCHS's insurer.
** Preferred/Optional:
** AAMI Credentials Institute (AMI), Certified Biomedical Electronics Technician (CBET), Certified Radiology Equipment Specialist (CRES), or Certified Laboratory Equipment Specialist (CLES) certification.
