Job Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cath Lab position specializing in cardiac and interventional radiology procedures with weekday day shifts and on-call requirements.
Responsibilities- Work in a hospital acute care setting in the Cardiac Cath Lab
- Position involves cardiac and interventional radiology procedures, including coronary, vascular, and IR cases
- Two-room cath lab handling an average of six cases per day
- Requires sedation, monitoring, and circulating cases; no scrubbing required for RNs
- Uses Cerner and Merge for EMR, with an upcoming transition to Epic
- Scheduled for four 10-hour shifts, Monday to Thursday from 0630 to 1700
- On-call required 1-2 weeknights per week and every 3rd to 4th weekend
- 30-minute response time required while on call
- Occasional floating to 1:1 sitter assignments
- RNs are responsible for patient sedation, monitoring, and circulating in the procedure rooms
- Scrubs are light blue and provided by the hospital
- Computer-based training assigned on day one and orientation binder to be completed in the first week
- Must clock in and out at the facility
- Former staff must have separated for at least six months and hospital approval is required for re-employment
- Local candidates within an 80-mile radius are accepted but are paid at a reduced local rate
- Call coverage needed for holidays as required
- First-time travelers will be considered for this position
- Active WI or compact RN license required by start date
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications from AHA required
- Minimum of 1 year recent experience in a Cath Lab setting
- Sedation experience and knowledge of reversal agents required
- Experience with cardiac drips and intravenous medications required
- Familiarity with Cerner and Merge EMR systems preferred
- Two professional references required, at least one from a direct supervisor
