The Opportunity
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Site Manager to join a highly respected, tier-one main contractor delivering a £20m education project in Newport. This is a key role on a flagship scheme, working closely with the Lead Project Manager to ensure successful delivery from construction through to handover.
This position offers long-term career progression, exposure to high-profile public sector developments, and the chance to work within a collaborative and forward-thinking project team.

Key Responsibilities

· Support the Lead Project Manager in the day-to-day running of the site

· Oversee subcontractors to ensure work is delivered safely, on time, and to a high standard

· Manage site operations including programme adherence, logistics, and quality control

· Ensure strict compliance with health & safety regulations and company procedures

· Coordinate with design teams and stakeholders to resolve any site issues

· Monitor progress and provide regular updates to senior management

· Drive high standards of workmanship and ensure project milestones are achieved

Requirements

· Proven experience as a Senior Site Manager with a recognised main contractor

· Strong track record delivering projects in the £10m–£30m range

· Experience working with well-known contractors across South Wales and/or the South West (either side of the Severn Bridge)

· Education or healthcare project experience is highly desirable

· Excellent leadership and communication skills

· Ability to manage multiple subcontractors and maintain programme deadlines

· Strong understanding of construction processes, H&S, and quality standards

Qualifications

· SMSTS (essential)

· CSCS (Black/Gold Card)

· First Aid at Work

· Relevant construction qualification (HNC/HND/Degree preferred)
