Electrical CAD Engineer

Initial 12-month contract
3 days p/w in Oakdale (rest remote)
425pd, Umbrella, inside IR35

Our client, a leading name in the Defence & Security sector, is currently seeking a talented Electrical CAD Engineer for a contract role. This exciting opportunity will see you join the Design Team of the SV Programme and Wheeled vehicles, where your contribution will emphasise safety, cost-efficiency, and ease of manufacture.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Produce design solutions including concepts, packaging, and platform installation design
  • Maintain the integrity of the design solution, ensuring safety
  • Support the design process throughout the project lifecycle
  • Align CAD to BoM at Platform Level
  • Manage BoM at platform level
  • Implement Engineering Design Changes
  • Ensure installation design solutions fulfil vehicle requirements
  • Prepare material for internal and external design reviews
  • Communicate design options and constraints effectively to the Lead Engineer
Job Requirements:
  • Experience in electrical engineering and design, particularly within the defence sector
  • Proficient in CAD software, ideally Pro Engineer Wildfire4/Creo/Creo 3
  • Proficient user of Windchill PDMLink
  • Experience in the design and development of mechanical components and systems
  • Ability to produce detailed design drawings
  • Strong understanding of BoM management and maintenance
  • Experience with military vehicle design (desirable)
  • Understanding of standards related to defence work, such as Defence Standards (desirable)
