School Caretaker – Ebbw Vale

We are currently recruiting for a reliable and proactive School Caretaker to join a welcoming primary school in Ebbw Vale, with a start date in June.

This role offers a consistent split‑shift pattern, Monday to Friday, with working hours of 6:30 am‑10:00 am and 2:30 pm‑6:00 pm. It is an excellent opportunity for an experienced caretaker seeking a long‑term position within a supportive school environment.

You will play a key role in maintaining the safety, security, and day‑to‑day upkeep of the school site in Ebbw Vale. Responsibilities include opening and closing the premises, carrying out basic maintenance tasks, and ensuring the school remains a clean and secure environment for pupils and staff.

• Opening and securing the school site each day
• Carrying out general maintenance and minor repairs
• Ensuring the premises are safe, clean, and well maintained
• Supporting the smooth day‑to‑day running of the school site
• Reporting any maintenance or health and safety concerns

• Previous experience as a School Caretaker or in a similar facilities/site management role is desirable
• Enhanced DBS certificate is essential
• Reliable, trustworthy, and capable of working independently
• Good practical maintenance skills and a proactive approach
