Overview
The Scheduler / Planner role coordinates and expedites the flow of work and materials within or between Departments according to daily and weekly production schedules. Duties involve reviewing and distributing production and shipment schedules; conferring with department supervisors to determine progress of work and completion dates; managing inventory levels, resolving stock variances and problem‑solving; and interfacing with customers and suppliers.
Responsibilities- Receipt & processing of customer schedules
- Issue of supplier schedules / call‑offs
- Create production schedule and prioritize job‑orders for production optimisation
- Maintain the production schedule and other required reports
- Progress daily production requirements to meet customer expectations
- Analyse and prepare documents needed for production
- Issue and control labels
- Complete status reports for production progress
- Prepare customer shipping plans
- Interact with shop‑floor management daily to resolve manufacturing issues
- Support stock‑control / accuracy requirements
- May be asked to perform other duties at a lower or higher level of proficiency
- One year’s experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
- Understanding of Microsoft Office; strong Excel and computer skills
- Good organisational and communication skills
- Detail‑oriented, ability to multi‑task and prioritise tasks with strict deadlines
- Good customer‑service and phone skills, flexible for handling a wide range of activities
- Using logic and reasoning to identify solutions to problems
- Demonstrate personal time‑management skills
- Full training and development programme will be provided for the right candidate demonstrating a strong desire and a can‑do attitude
- 25 days holiday (mostly fixed with plant shutdowns) + 8 bank holidays
- 37.5‑hour week, Monday to Friday
