Are you an experienced Adult Social Worker with a passion for supporting adults with learning disabilities? We're recruiting on behalf of a local authority in South Wales for a rewarding opportunity based at the Civic Centre in Newport.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a supportive Adult Services team, working in a fast-paced environment where you'll make a real difference to the lives of vulnerable adults and their carers.
The Role
As an Adult Social Worker, you will:
* Complete assessments and reviews for adults with learning disabilities.
* Deliver strengths-based, person-centred interventions to promote independence.
* Manage a varied caseload, including complex cases involving risk and safeguarding.
* Work across front door, community, and hospital discharge pathways.
* Undertake Mental Capacity Assessments and Best Interests decision-making.
* Develop care and support plans in line with statutory responsibilities.
* Work collaboratively with health professionals, families, carers, and partner agencies.
* Maintain accurate case records and reports using electronic systems.
Requirements
We're looking for candidates who have:
* Qualified Social Worker status with Social Care Wales registration.
* Experience assessing and reviewing adults with learning disabilities.
* Strong knowledge of the Mental Capacity Act 2005, Care Act principles, and adult safeguarding.
* Experience managing competing demands within a busy caseload.
* Confidence working with complex cases and risk management.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Strong analytical and decision-making abilities.
* Experience using Microsoft Office and electronic case management systems.
* A commitment to professional development and delivering positive outcomes.
