Teaching & Learning

• Plan, deliver and assess engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to pupils with a range of SEN/ALN, including (but not limited to) ASD, ADHD, SEMH, MLD, SLD and communication needs
• Create a safe, structured and positive learning environment that supports individual learning styles
• Use a variety of teaching strategies, interventions and resources to meet pupils' needs
• Monitor, assess and record pupil progress, adapting teaching accordingly

• Develop and implement Individual Development Plans (IDPs) in line with the ALN Code for Wales
• Support pupils' emotional regulation, behaviour and wellbeing using trauma-informed and restorative approaches
• Promote pupils' independence, confidence and social development
• Work effectively with support staff to ensure consistent and high-quality provision

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• Experience teaching pupils with SEN/ALN, ideally in a specialist or additional needs setting
• Strong understanding of the ALN Code for Wales (or willingness to develop this)
• Ability to plan and deliver differentiated, inclusive lessons
• Excellent communication, teamwork and relationship-building skills
• A calm, patient and resilient approach to teaching and behaviour support
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil wellbeing
