We are currently seeking a talented and experienced Building Official to join our team. This role offers opportunities for dynamic, motivated self‑starters to work on a variety of projects.

• Meet all state and locally mandated code compliance and reporting requirements.
• Apply knowledge of building codes, policies, and procedures to the day‑to‑day functions of the building department.
• Serve as the primary liaison with clients and deliver the highest level of customer service.
• Attend department and community meetings as required by the client.
• Perform plan reviews (both commercial and residential) in all trades.
• Provide inspection support as needed.
• Supervise building department staff.

• Extensive knowledge of local building code regulations, policies and procedures.
• Client and team management experience in a building department setting.
• Solid computer skills and experience using MS Office programs.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Exercise initiative and display independent judgment.
• Self‑directed and self‑motivated.

• MI Building Official certification required.
• MI Building Inspector certification required.
• MI Building Plan Reviewer certification required.
• Inspection and plan review experience for commercial and residential structures required.
• Building Official experience managing a building department preferred.
• Experience supervising building department staff preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license and a good driving record required.
