POSTE / MISSIONS
We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our Lausanne Product Development team. You will design and simulate highly reliable mechanical sub-systems and optimized system integration. These must meet the required functional specifications and consider electrical, size, and weight constraints along with airborne environment factors.
The day-to-day
- Drive requirements, architecture definition and tradeoffs.
- Define work packages and resulting workload; monitor execution; support Project Management for long term planning, interfaces and risks management.
- Design, simulate and test, assembly and parts for sophisticated, highly integrated, system.
- Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts, manufacturers and test facilities.
- Partner with System, Hardware, Radio frequency engineers and with our internal and external experts.
You are a meticulous, open-minded and well-organized person, motivated to perform multiple tasks in a wide-ranging environment. You enjoy taking ownership of the agreed work and completing it autonomously. When needed, you easily ask for support from our multi-disciplinary engineering team and collaborate with external partners. Great teammate, problem solver and hands‑on engineer, you never hesitate to take the extra step for the team to succeed!
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent professional experience
- Over 10 years of demonstrated expertise in mechanical engineering within the relevant industry working with Solid Works 3D, EPDM.
- Strong experience with thermal simulations and thermal management techniques
- Experience in system level architecture that may include aspects of mechanical, electrical, radio frequency and optical fields
- Good experience in embedded packaging for harsh environment
- Quality by Design;
Design for Manufacturing/Assembling/Testing/Maintenance - Enjoying lab activities: hands‑on, familiar with test equipment, and lab assembly; ability to understand end‑to‑end systems and solve issues.
- Learned from visiting low and high‑volume manufacturers; analytical skills and interest, able and inclined to learn new diverse material, and manufacturing capability, at a fast pace.
- Strong documentation abilities and capacity to report on technical solutions and findings; clear and concise English communication skills, both oral and written.
- Lausanne, Switzerland, onsite presence at least 3 days per week.
