Accounting Manager
Major Areas of Accountability
- Assist management in development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures.
- Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, and sales and use tax compliance.
- Maintain and improve internal control environment including SOX controls and external audit procedures.
- Lead projects to map and simplify processes within the finance and accounting department using the ITW Toolbox.
- Coordinate month‑end close, review reconciliations of balance sheet accounts, and analyze results.
- Review, enforce, and enhance policies and procedures.
- Manage and develop assigned employees; hire, manage, and develop a skilled staff.
Assist with the maintenance and improvement of the internal control environment; ensure daily management activities are conducted in compliance with internal and external control requirements. Utilize the ITW Toolbox and 80/20 philosophy to continuously analyze processes and systems to reduce complexity throughout the business. Coordinate timely and accurate month‑end close with staff; review reconciliations of balance sheet accounts; analyze month‑end results.
Minimum Qualifications- Education:
B.A. degree in Accounting. - 8+ years of increasingly complex public and/or private experience in accounting.
- CPA or MBA.
- Background in cost accounting.
- Major ERP experience (e.g., SAP) and experience with Concur.
- Experience with current information technology in financial applications, both enterprise and PC based.
- Effective time management and detail oriented. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to speak and coordinate with individuals across multiple functions within the MTS business segments.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
CompensationInformation
The compensation for this position ranges from $108,000-$133,000 based on relevant education and experience.
