$28.00 to $38.00 per hour, depending on experience. Shift differential pay available for emergency work. Overtime available.

This is an experienced level equipment operator position working with a crew that is responsible for performing a combination of duties to include operating various construction equipment at construction sites for trenching, bore drilling, and pulling underground fiber optic cabling. In this position you are responsible for being an effective team member of your crew, working safely at all times, and being efficient.

• Safely operate construction equipment in a variety of urban and rural areas
• Prepare construction site for trenching, plowing, and bore drilling
• Perform site restoration work
• Must comply with all safety requirements and participate in required safety training
• Safely and securely load and unload construction equipment and materials
• Perform physical labor tasks not limited to potholing, digging with shovels, locating, operating vac machines
• Perform other duties as assigned

• High School Diploma or equivalent in knowledge and training required
• 2+ years of construction equipment operator experience required
• Experience in operating one or more types of construction equipment
• Commercial driver’s license, Class A, or ability to obtain
• Ability to read instructions and take work direction verbally and in writing
• Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position
• Must have valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
• Must be able to pass background check
• Must be able to pass pre‑employment drug testing
• Travel may be required

• Understanding of underground utility construction operations
• Exposure to directional boring operations

This position requires frequent sitting, standing, climbing and bending and occasional kneeling and crawling as required. Close, peripheral and distant visual abilities are needed including depth perception. Requires ability to lift arms above shoulders. Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds. The work environment is frequently loud and requires the employee to work in a variety of weather elements including extreme cold and heat.
