Overview
Automation Controls Programming Engineer role to support Hartfiel sales with development, integration and programming of automated equipment for machine control.
CompensationHartfiel Automation provided pay range. This range is provided by Hartfiel Automation. Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience — talk with your recruiter to learn more.
Base pay range: $65.00/yr - $95.00/yr
Education/ExperienceBachelor’s degree from a technical field of study preferred (Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Physics, or Computer Engineering).
Required:
understanding and ability to program controls systems including servos, induction motors, servo drives, motion controllers, PLCs and HMIs. Knowledge of industrial communication protocols (e.g., Ethernet IP, Can Open, Devicenet, Ether
CAT) is needed. Experience with ladder logic, structured text, and other standard programming languages is required.
- Programming and development of automation equipment, including writing code in industrial programming languages (ladder, structured text, flow chart, etc.), development of operator interface visualizations, and integration with plant SCADA systems and databases.
- On-site installation of automation equipment products throughout Hartfiel territories.
- Troubleshooting electrical systems at Hartfiel and at customer sites.
- Develop electrical schematics using electrical wiring software such as AutoCAD.
- Collaborate with Controls Sales Specialist to review quotes and proposals.
- Maintain accurate calendars and logs of time spent on projects; strong time management skills required.
- Lead training sessions for customers and the sales team, individually or in groups.
- Communicate project challenges in a timely manner.
- Travel up to 25% may be required.
- Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned by supervisor.
- Follows all quality processes and procedures established by Hartfiel Automation.
- Operates within Hartfiel Automation’s mission, values, and vision statements.
