- Partner with Engineering during new product introduction to influence design for cost, manufacturability, quality, and supply availability, including material and process selection, drawing and specification reviews, supplier qualification, tooling strategy, and alternate sourcing.
- Apply design-for-manufacturability and value-engineering principles to improve component cost and scalability.
- Monitor and mitigate constrained capacity, tooling failures, raw-material volatility, long lead times, and single-source dependencies to help ensure uninterrupted production.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Business, or a related field.
- At least five years of progressive experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, or commodity management, including direct ownership of mechanical commodities such as precision-machined parts, sheet metal and fabricated assemblies, castings, extrusions, injection-molded components, standard hardware, or related mechanical assemblies.
- Demonstrated success negotiating supplier contracts and long-term agreements and delivering year-over-year cost reductions.
- Strong should-cost modeling and data-analysis skills, with working knowledge of mechanical manufacturing processes, technical drawings and specifications, and tooling economics.
- Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems such as SAP or Oracle and Microsoft Excel.
- Experience in a manufacturing, industrial equipment, or hardware-driven industry with complex mechanical components and assemblies.
